This page is like a catalogue, you can see different series of my paintings.

PEP CAMPS autodidact painter, studies of History of art at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. In the beginning of de early eighties, works on performances and installations alternating with paintings, after one stage in Berlin (1984), painting takes the main work.

The paintings flows through series, this series happens and juxtapose in different time, each series had been worked in different way, depends on what kind of sensation or message wants to express. All the series keep one similar “air”, something that join all together. The series had been painted in different places, the stage in Asia for nearly five years (between 1987-1992), has a big influence in my personal, conceptual and spiritual life, but (the tired Europe) was never forgotten in my concepts. I understand painting like a possibility to give others visions of reality more far than what we get with our five senses, try to open others “doors” in our perception of reality. In this moments of confusion, with a general feeling of discomfort, speed up times and uncertain future, painting still works, like an instrument that open to reflections, to intuitions, to contemplation, and silence.

It’s fantastic and thrilling to connect with someone through the paintings and vibrate in the frequency of paintings, like music, people from different place and time have some connection further than the circumstantial things.
